Regarding the Court’s functions following a lapse of funding due to the Government Shutdown

Beginning on October 1, 2013, the Judiciary curtailed spending on a national level. Because of this, all court units are now funded through Thursday, October 17th. The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts is monitoring the situation daily and funding may be extended through Friday. If Congress does not end the shutdown and there is a lapse in appropriations, Chief Judge Susan Mollway has deemed all court functions essential and the court will continue to operate normally. A copy of the order is available on the courts internet website www.hid.uscourts.gov.
