EdVenture: Foreclosures, Short Sale and Bankruptcy
Attorney David Cain will be leading an EdVenture class exploring legal issues relating to short sales, foreclosures and bankruptcy. The class will be held this weekend, Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 9:00am-1:00pm at the University of Hawaii Maui College.
Mr. Cain is also planning similar lectures with the EdVenture program for the Fall. Tentative dates are September 28, 2013 and November 16, 2013. Both classes will also be held 9:00am.-1:00p.m.
The May 25, 2013 will feature two guest speakers: Gina Duncan and David McCreight. Ms. Duncan is a local Realtor with Maui Real Estate Advisors and has demonstrated experience closing short sales. Mr. McCreight works at Cain & Herren, ALC, as the loan modification specialist and is a well-known former mortgage broker and thus has experience both originating loans and modifying them. Together the panel brings insight to various loss mitigation options including short sales, deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure, refinances and modifications. Mr. Cain wraps the discussion up with an exploration into the law and procedure of bankruptcy and explains how the Bankruptcy Code offers relief to homeowners in distress. Come with questions.
