Federal Shutdown and its effect on the Bankruptcy Court
As Congress announced the federal shutdown and hundreds of thousands of federal employees were furloughed pending a spending bill compromise in Congress, the Bankruptcy Court of the District of Hawaii made the following announcement.
“The court has been advised that the Judiciary has funds, separate from money appropriated by Congress, to continue operations for 10 work days, i.e. through October 15, 2013. A further announcement will be made if a government shutdown is anticipated to go beyond that date.”
