Meet Our Attorneys
David Cain
David Cain is an honors graduate of The Ohio State University and the New England School of Law. With over twenty years of experience practicing in both Boston and Maui, David brings deep knowledge in a wide spectrum. His calm approach and strong strategic insight have helped thousands of individuals regain stability and move toward a more secure financial future.
Benard M. Herren
Ben M. Herren is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law and has practiced law for more than two decades. His extensive background includes 13 years as a State of Alaska prosecutor, handling cases ranging from misdemeanors to high-profile homicide trials and appeals. After serving as a prosecutor on Maui, Ben now focuses on family law, divorce, and criminal defense, using his deep courtroom experience to advocate for clients with strength and compassion.
Valerie “Val” McKelvey
Valerie B. McKelvey brings wide-ranging experience in criminal, family, business, civil, and tort law. A former Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, she has also worked extensively in labor law, contracts, condominium law, and government relations.
She received her Juris Doctor from the William S. Richardson School of Law, earning top honors including the CALI Award for legal writing and the Best Oral Argument award.
Val holds dual B.A. degrees from the University of Hawaii at Hilo and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Hawaii, Mānoa.
Beyond her legal work, she is deeply involved in community service through the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise and the Lahaina Town Action Committee. Val advocates boldly for her clients, especially those with unique personal or family needs.
